Hello, mahal.
It's hard to always hide who you truly are. Pretending to be who you're not just to fit in, just so people won't make fun of you or call you a freak.
It's draining to always hide behind the shadows. Masking the fear from judgement through fake smiles and broken laughs. Not knowing whether or not it's worth it to live a life always in hiding.
A time will come that we don't have to hide behind closed doors, where whose hand we'll hold won't meet judgmental stares and hateful words.
Where we'll be seen as equals and not just some TV trope or objects of consumption.
There'll be a time when our rights will be recognized and we can finally be who we are, comfortable in our bodies and identities. Someday, the future will be ours.
May those masks never hide the beautiful smiles of love.
