The struggle of becoming the most real version of yourself is a never-ending suffering. It is a continuous battle of choosing between letting everything loose and just be yourself or conforming to what the people around you expect you to be and making them proud.
If it sounds difficult enough, for some, this choice isn't even given and that makes it so much harder and painful.
Everyone is living in a bubble of expectations and toxic norms, moving free but restricted by barriers surrounding them. For our siblings in the LGBTQI community, it even has an upgrade. They're not just caged in a bubble, they are also chained inside it, denying them the movement even inside the suffocating confinement.
And the struggle continues. Even inside the houses they first saw the world in and even with the people they expect most affection from, they cannot let loose. They yearn for mere acceptance and love, but instead they are thrown out of the houses they call home and being denied by the people they call family.
This is the struggle only a few talk about and only a portion of the society truly cares about. A struggle we cannot deny and a situation being shown in front of our two bulging eyes, but still most just choose not to see.
The hope that one day we all live in a place of zero judgment and a million acceptance is what people like me is genuinely wishing for.
May we all assemble in a parade raining with love and may we all realize that family knows no sexual orientation and that home must be inclusive to everyone regardless of who or what they are as an individual.
Let's make it a norm that family is always beyond blood connection and be a family to everyone, especially who needs it the most. Let us set across the message that home is not just concrete mansions or wooden houses. Instead, let us normalize seeking and looking for home in each of our hearts.
No one provides a better home to yourself than your own. gay people be benevolent enough to share and provide home to those who are lost.
To those who are members of the LGBTQI community, may you never surrender in raising your flag and letting the world know about your colorful existence. Continue resisting against the chain that keeps you from moving and together, let us burst the bubble that keeps us from letting loose.
The fight against this stigma and toxic norms isn't just yours to fight. It is for everyone who has conscious eyes in this society that is turning a blind eye.
So in the course of fighting against this far-ending battle, consider us fighting by your side.
